The painting which I've submitted as "propagate" for this weeks Illustration Friday was originally produced as one of six or so illustrations for the excellent novel "The third policeman" by Flan O'Brian.

This image illustrates a section of the book where one of the main protagonists, contemplating his life, is sitting at a huge wooden table upon which he places all his sins represented by biblical apple cores.
